The Department of Commerce of Shandong Province Invites Fortune Global 500 Enterprises in Japan to Shandong for Roadshow

This is the Phase III Foreign Economic and Trade Cooperation Roadshow Activity.

The participants in this activity include Nengshi Renyan, General Manager of Itochu Corporation, Puyuan Dajie, representative of Wakayama in Shandong Province, as well as the representatives from enterprises, parks and the provincial departments such as Shandong Development and Reform Commission, Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, Department of Culture and Tourism of Shandong Province, Health Commission of Shandong Province, Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People’s Government, Shandong Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Jinan Customs, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shandong Sub-council. More than 350 representatives of the provincial business system from the 16 cities of Shandong watched the roadshow through video meeting.


Lv Wei, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, attended the roadshow and delivered a speech. She pointed out that the activity aimed to build a two-way communication platform based on the trend of capital flow in economic developed areas at home and abroad, industrial transfer direction, the recent trend of cooperation, and information expansion, so as to promote more positive contact and communication between relevant institutions and enterprises of various cities in Shandong and foreign enterprises, and build a high-level and high-quality platform for cities, parks and key enterprises in Shandong to attract investment and talent.


Nengshi Renyan, General Manager of Itochu Corporation, introduced during the roadshow that Itochu is one of the five major comprehensive commercial associations in Japan and one of the Fortune Global 500 enterprises. Its business scope covers many fields such as textile, machinery, information, metal, petrochemical industry and food. So far, Itochu has invested 13 projects in Shandong, with a total investment volume of over USD 500 million, making it one of the Japanese enterprises with the most investment projects in Shandong. He said that next step, Itochu will further cooperate with potential innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises in Shandong Province.


Puyuan Dajie, representative of Wakayama in Shandong Province, said that this year is the 35th anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations between Wakayama and Shandong Province. Wakayama leads Japan in the cultivation and deep processing of forestry, fruits and vegetables, and flowers, and has developed furniture manufacturing and fishing industry. He said that Wakayama can provide preferential policy support such as industrial land and financial aid for Shandong enterprises to expand the Japanese market.


More than 20 state-owned enterprises such as LUCION, LUSHANG, Shandong Iron & Steel Group, Shandong Airlines, Yankuang Group, Shangdong Hi-speed Group, and Shangdong Energy Group administrated by Shangdong, the representatives from more than 10 provincial departments such as Shandong Development and Reform Commission, Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, and Department of Culture and Tourism of Shandong Province, as well as the staff from commercial departments of the 16 cities had in-depth communication with roadshow guests on industrial synergy and cooperation intention. Over 20 cooperation intentions were reached on the site.

It is known that the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province also collects the cooperation intentions of various cities in "Investment and Talent Attraction" through questionnaire survey, e-mail, WeChat and other ways, as well as their opinions and suggestions on the roadshow activity.

The representatives from Foreign Trade Department, Foreign Investment Department, Foreign Economic Relations Department, and Development Zone Department of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province respectively introduced and explained the "Overseas Market Expansion Plan Through 100 Exhibitions", the policies for foreign-invested enterprises in Shandong Province, the participation of Shandong Province in the BRI construction to promote economic and trade cooperation, and the related policies for Taiwan-funded enterprises to settle the parks.


More than 30 people from the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Shandong Province, Jinan Investment Promotion Bureau, and some Taiwan-funded enterprises attended the activity. More than 400 representatives of the business system from various cities of Shandong watched the roadshow through video meeting.


Wang Chan, Grade-IV Researcher of the Foreign Trade Department of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, introduced the "Overseas Market Expansion Plan Through 100 Exhibitions" in detail. She introduced that the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province formulated and implemented the "Overseas Market Expansion Plan Through 100 Exhibitions", and selected 100 exhibitions by soliciting the opinions of relevant exhibition institutions and various chambers of commerce in various cities around the BRI markets and the emerging growth points for Shandong enterprises to expand in the international market. The 100 exhibitions are divided into seven Grade-A theme exhibitions, 21 Grade-B organizing exhibitions and 72 Grade-C recommended exhibitions. The Department of Commerce of Shandong Province provides support for the theme exhibitions and organizing exhibitions with the provincial market expansion funds, and supports various cities to provide support for the recommended exhibitions with the funds used by small and medium-sized enterprises to develop the international market and municipal supporting funds.


Wang Jian, Chief of the Foreign Investment Department of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, explained the policies for foreign-invested enterprises in Shandong Province, and introduced in detail the identification standards and implementation measures for the incentive policies for the headquarters in Shandong Province, as well as the relevant details of the incentive policies for the introduction of major foreign investment projects. He said that if the enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises, which register and operate in Shandong Province by law, meet relevant award policy regulations, and submit declaration according to procedures, the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province will give support to them through different award methods according to regulations.


Fan Zunzhi, Grade-IV Researcher of the Foreign Economic Relations Department of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, introduced relevant situation of the participation of Shandong Province in the BRI construction to promote economic and trade cooperation. He said that next step, Shandong will play its advantages around the overall national layout of the BRI to focus on the cooperation on unimpeded trade, facilities connectivity, capacity connection and industrial parks construction, promote the BRI economic and trade cooperation, and promote the replacement for new growth drivers and the high-quality development of open economy.


Yan Tingbo, Grade-IV Researcher of the Development Zone Department of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, introduced the national and provincial policies for supporting the settlement of enterprises in industrial parks from the three aspects of land use, participation in market-oriented operation of the Development Zone as well as innovation and entrepreneurship. He also assisted the representatives of Taiwan-funded enterprises to support the youth from Taiwan (China) to come to the entrepreneurship subsidies competent departments of Shandong.


Li Yanhui, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Department of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, presided over this roadshow. He said this roadshow responded to Secretary Liu Jiayi's instructions on solving the last-mile service for policy implementation in enterprises, institutions and service windows, and giving Taiwan compatriots a stronger sense of fulfillment, and promoted the implementation of Shandong's "56 Preferential Policies for Taiwan (China)". This will enable Taiwan-funded enterprises in Shandong to further understand our important development policies in business and share the development opportunities for opening up to the outside world, which is of great significance to deepening the cooperation between building consensus Shandong and Taiwan (China) and building consensus.

In addition, it has rich natural resources such as bauxite (ranking first in the United States), silicon dioxide, quartz and bromine, and is also one of few states producing diamond.


The Chinese representatives of seven US states introduced in detail the modern agriculture, manufacturing industry, and tourism.
