In addition, a group composed of 230 buyers from Shandong is also attending the expo.
Running from May 7 to 10, the expo is the largest consumer goods expo in the Asia-Pacific region, covering an area of 80,000 square meters, according to the organizers.
The international exhibition area, spanning 60,000 square meters, houses 648 exhibitors and 1,365 brands from 69 countries and regions, while the domestic exhibition area covers an area of 20,000 square meters, with 857 exhibitors and 1,263 brands.
The expo is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Hainan Provincial People's Government, and more than 30,000 buyers and professionals have registered to participate in the event. The expo is expected to be attended by over 200,000 people.
The expo serves as a global platform for the display and trade of high-end consumer products and helps countries share in opportunities provided by the Chinese market. It also enables China to offer the world more quality consumer products, said local officials.
Shandong will host a news conference during the expo to promote the province's enterprises and products, as well as facilitate cooperation, said Shandong officials.
