Shandong Introduced 16 Measures to Promote the High-Quality Development of the Medical Device Industry

Recently, Shandong issued "Sixteen Measures to Promote the High-Quality Development of the Medical Device Industry ". These "Measures" consists of 16 articles, involving four parts of "increase support for medical device innovation", "guide and support the development of medical device clusters", "comprehensive optimization of approval services" and "effectively protect the quality and safety of medical devices".

Encouraging innovation is the distinctive orientation of the "Measures". The "Measures" condense the efforts of five departments to provide policy support for the whole process of innovative medical devices from R&D to clinical application. In the R&D sector, the document proposes to build an enterprise-oriented, market-oriented, industry-university-research deeply integrated medical device technology innovation system, support medical device R&D and transformation institutions to undertake research results with significant application prospects and innovation from higher education institutions and medical institutions.
