The 5th China Farmer Harvest Festival fell on September 23 as the first national statutory festival set specifically for farmers. Shandong yielded a bumper harvest, including Shandong's unique agricultural products with geographical indications such as Shouguang vegetables, Weixian radish and Qixia apples.
The bumper harvest was inseparable from farmers' hard work, as well as the country's permanent attention to agricultural technologies and the painstaking efforts of generations of researchers. Driverless tractors free large numbers of farmers from high-intensity labor; IoT enables remote operations of greenhouse breeding, inductive watering and temperature control; drones spray atomized pesticides over one mu of land within a minute. Agricultural technologies such as big data, cloud computing, 5G and BeiDou navigation have become important drivers for the high-quality development of modern agriculture.
China Farmer Harvest Festival is a festival of farmers' own, a sign of Chinese farming civilization, as well as a window via which China pushes forward rural rejuvenation in an all-round way.
