The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced the winners of the advanced manufacturing clusters competition, and Shandong Weifang Chain Drive Cluster was among them. Now Shandong has three national advanced manufacturing clusters, placing itself among the top five advanced manufacturing provinces in the country.
As introduced, the advanced manufacturing clusters competition held by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is regarded as a trial for winners in different industries and sectors to join the “national team.” Since 2019, there have been 45 advanced manufacturing winners coming out of the competition. Before this time, Shandong successively established two national advanced manufacturing clusters, namely Qingdao Intelligent Household Appliances and Railway Transportation Equipment. By now, Shandong has issued the “strongest mobilization order” to accelerate the development of its advanced manufacturing strength. It will fully carry out the “Action Plan for the Development of Shandong’s Advanced Manufacturing Strength (2022-2025).” According to the plan, by 2025, the province will strive to establish about 200 provincial industrial clusters in arrow-head formation, more than 50 strategic emerging industrial clusters, 20 advanced manufacturing clusters and 120 characteristic industrial clusters.
