On June 6, the Promotional Event of Qingdao Multinationals Summit and Key Projects sponsored by the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province was held in Shanghai. The event was attended by nearly 70 representatives from multinationals, leading enterprises in each industry, business associations, the Ministry of Commerce and relevant departments at provincial and municipal levels.
In recent years, significant improvement has been seen in Shandong's business environment, making the province an attractive destination for multinationals seeking investment opportunities. Up to now, there are over 18,000 foreign-funded enterprises in Shandong, and 231 Fortune Global 500 enterprises have invested and set up more than 900 enterprises in this province.
During the event, officials from Jining and Zaozhuang introduced developmental advantages and highlighted key investment projects in these cities respectively. According to Zhang Qingwei, Full-time Deputy Secretary-General of the Secretariat of Qingdao Multinationals Summit, the event aimed to implement measures to attract and utilize foreign investment with greater efforts in Shandong as required by the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and People's Government of Shandong Province, strengthen regular contacts with participators of the Qingdao Multinationals Summit, and promote investment projects targeting multinationals. In this way, more multinationals will be encouraged to learn about and invest in Shandong.
