Recently, Shandong held a regular policy briefing to interpret the Three-year Action Plan of Shandong Province for Promoting New Energy Vehicles in Rural Areas (2023-2025). According to the conference, Shandong will focus on cracking five hard nuts that hinder the effort of promoting new energy vehicles in rural areas.
As a leading automobile producer in China, Shandong enjoys certain advantages in the development of the new energy vehicle industry. Therefore, Shandong has formulated a three-year action plan to promote new energy vehicles in rural areas from both the supply and demand sides. This not only meets the practical need of expanding domestic demand and stabilizing growth, but also is a natural requirement for accelerating green, low-carbon, and high-quality development and deepening the replacement of old growth drivers with new ones.
Focusing on enhancing the supply capacity, the plan will build two new energy vehicle industrial bases worth more than 100 billion yuan in Jinan and Qingdao and speed up the establishment of three new energy passenger vehicle industrial clusters in Yantai, Rizhao, and Dezhou and two new energy commercial vehicle industrial clusters in Zibo and Liaocheng. With these efforts, Shandong strives to improve the development pattern characterized by "two industrial bases and five industrial clusters" and achieve an output of about 1 million new energy vehicles by 2025.
