From September 2 to 9, a delegation of Shandong headed by Lin Wu, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Shandong Provincial Committee, visited Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia. The delegation had extensive contacts with national leaders and people from various sectors in these three countries by holding more than 20 foreign affairs activities. They actively promoted friendly relations between provinces and cities, conducted a series of economic, trade, and cultural activities, signed a number of cooperation agreements and projects, and achieved significant cooperation results. These efforts effectively promoted practical cooperation between Shandong and Central Asian countries in various fields, facilitating better realization of complementary advantages and mutually beneficial outcomes.
During the visit, a number of major foreign affairs events attracted attention from all sectors. Hundreds of participants from various sectors gathered at these significant events, including the China (Shandong)–Kazakhstan Cooperation and Exchange Conference and the 10th Anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, China (Shandong)–Uzbekistan Cooperation and Exchange Conference and the 10th Anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, and China (Shandong)–Kyrgyzstan Business Cooperation and Exchange Conference. Dozens of projects were signed, including the SCODA (China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area) Logistics Cooperation Project, the Shandong High-Speed Group New Material Cooperation Project, and the Taishan Sports Equipment Supply Project, covering many areas such as agriculture, infrastructure, equipment manufacturing, new energy, logistics, and trade.
During the visit, the delegation unveiled the China Railway Express (Qilu) Almaty Assembly Center, attended the Shandong Heavy Industry Group Global Partners’ Conference and Product Exhibition, witnessed the 3000th SINOTRUK heavy-duty truck rolling off the production line at Uz Truck & Bus Motors, and participated in the signing of the cooperation agreement on localized production of new energy buses between China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. (SINOTRUK) and Uzavtosanoat, and unveiled the Shandong Heavy Industry Group Kyrgyzstan Maintenance Service Center and presented a Zhongtong CT Medical Vehicle as a gift. These activities documented fruitful results of practical cooperation between the enterprises of both sides.
Cultural exchange serves as an important bond connecting the two regions. During the visit, the delegation also highly valued cultural exchange. The delegation actively promoted “Hospitable Shandong People, Premium Shandong Products” to all sectors in Central Asia, aiming to deepen friendly cooperation through cultural exchanges and mutual learning.
