Recently, the China Institute of Navigation released the Technical Requirements for Building Port Areas with Near-zero Carbon Dioxide Emissions, marking the official implementation of China's first technical standard of this kind. Notably, Shandong Port Group has played a leading role in the preparation of this meaningful document.
In recent years, actively responding to the country's call for contributing to the "dual carbon" strategy and the province's goal of building a green, low-carbon and high-quality development pilot zone, the Shandong Provincial Department of Transportation has made continuous efforts to meet the requirements put forward for the green and low-carbon transformation and development of the transportation industry and guide enterprises in the industry to explore the ways of how to build port areas with near-zero carbon dioxide emissions. Bearing in mind its responsibility as a state-owned enterprise, Shandong Port Group has issued the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Construction of Ports with Near-zero Carbon Dioxide Emissions. This document has made it clear that efforts should be made on green energy use, green processes, green technology, and green environment to promote the construction of operation zones, wharves, and port areas with near-zero carbon dioxide emissions.
Next, the Shandong Provincial Department of Transportation will continue to support Shandong Port Group to play an exemplary role as an industry-leading enterprise in the construction of port areas with near-zero carbon dioxide emissions and provide strong support for Shandong's faster construction of a world-class port cluster with first-class standards.
