On September 19, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, the Shandong Development and Reform Commission, the Education Department of Shandong Province, the Department of Science & Technology of Shandong Province, the Shandong Provincial Department of Finance, and the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism jointly issued the Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Innovative Development of Metaverse Industry in Shandong Province.

Shandong will introduce and cultivate more than 100 characteristic and advantageous enterprises for the metaverse ecological chain and form an industrial development pattern featuring integration and innovation among large, medium, and small-sized enterprises in the upstream, midstream, and downstream links of the industrial chain. To achieve this, Shandong will focus on intelligent terminals, industrial applications, and digital tools of the metaverse; advance the high-level construction of characteristic industrial parks such as the Qilu Software Park in Jinan, the Virtual Reality Industrial Park in Qingdao, and the Metaverse Future Innovation Valley in Weifang; form a joint matrix of industrial parks that pursue integrated development in the province.
       In addition, Shandong will strengthen the integrated development of the metaverse industry with other industries such as industrial manufacturing, culture and tourism, education, medical and health care, and sports, support the construction of more than 30 public application and experience centers for metaverse, and create 100 characteristic metaverse application scenarios.
