On September 27, the 2023 (Weihai·China) International Textile and Apparel Sustainable Supply Chain Conference was held in Weihai City, Shandong Province. Zhang Haibo, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, attended the conference and delivered a speech.

Mentioning Shandong's status as a province with a strong industrial economy, Zhang Haibo said that the provincial government has elevated the industrial economy to the strategic height of a top priority and established a clear direction of focusing on manufacturing, the digital economy, and the private economy in the province since this year. From January to August this year, the added value of industries above the designated size in the province increased by 7.1 percent, 3.2 percentage points higher than that in China and ranking among the highest in China's economically strong provinces.

Shandong has always attached great importance to the development of the textile and apparel industry. Guided by this, Shandong has listed the industry among the top ten industries for the replacement of old growth drivers with new ones and among the 11 representative industrial chains. By doing so, Shandong has constantly increased factor supply, accelerated transformation and upgrading, and expedited the high-quality development of the industry. Next, under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, Shandong will focus on sustainable supply chain development and make every effort to promote innovation, cooperation, openness, and integration in the global textile supply chain.
