Last year, Shandong issued the Policies on Supporting the Agglomeration and Development of the Biopharmaceutical Industry in Dongying Economic and Technological Development Zone. Dongying City’s first enterprise service center has been established in Dongying Economic and Technological Development Zone to provide “one-stop” administrative approval services for enterprises. The Measures for the Promotion and Management of Business and Investment Attraction Projects have been introduced to provide tailor-made services for projects in the development zone. A talent-centric development strategy has been implemented to improve talent attraction and cultivation in the development zone, offering services for various kinds of talent in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Dongying Economic and Technological Development Zone focuses on building itself into a biopharmaceutical industry innovation hub in northern Shandong. It has planned a biopharmaceutical industry cluster covering an area of 3,500 mu and rolled out a series of rewards and subsidies to attract enterprises across the upstream downstream segments of the biopharmaceutical industry chain, with a maximum reward of up to 50 million yuan for a single project.

So far, 20 biopharmaceutical industry projects have been completed in Dongying Economic and Technological Development Zone, while 14 projects are under construction and 35 projects are being promoted with great efforts. These projects span all segments of the biopharmaceutical industry chain, from medicine R&D to the distribution of medical devices and medicines, further enhancing the competitiveness of related enterprises in the industry chain.
