As one of the earliest provinces in China to build a provincial-level comprehensive smart management platform for the chemical industry, Shandong's efforts to introduce digital technologies to the chemical industry have paid off gradually. Up to now, eight chemical industrial parks have been rated as national smart chemical industrial parks, accounting for 25% of the national total.
In the first half of this year, the number of enterprises above the designated size in the chemical industry in the province increased to 3,399; their main business revenue reached 1.36 trillion yuan and their profit hit 36.56 billion yuan, accounting for 25.2 percent and 18.8 percent of the total of the province's industries, respectively, and 17.9 percent and 8.5 percent of the total of the country's petrochemical industry. In terms of the scale of the chemical industry, Shandong has ranked first in China for many consecutive years.
The Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province and the national cross-industry and cross-field industrial internet platform COSMOPlat have co-built China's first provincial-level industrial internet platform for the chemical industry. At present, it has established connections with 84 chemical industrial parks and more than 4,600 enterprises in the province, thus effectively integrating departmental data resources and promoting information sharing at provincial, park, and enterprise levels.
