On October 19, the Launch Conference of the RCEP Standardization Innovation Cooperation and Exchange Center of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Standardization Innovation Development Exchange Conference were held in Jinan City, Shandong Province.

This marks the official launch of the RCEP Standardization Innovation Cooperation and Exchange Center of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone which is aimed at strengthening cooperation and exchanges in RCEP standardization innovation. As a leader in China's opening-up, Shandong boasts a unique advantage in carrying out international standardization exchanges and cooperation. Meanwhile, the RCEP agreement has played an increasingly positive role in promoting trade, facilitating investment, and optimizing industries since it came into effect.

Yang Li, Deputy Mayor of Jinan City, pointed out in her speech that Jinan and RCEP member countries have made constant progress in promoting connectivity and have seen mutual economic and trade cooperation and investment improve in both quality and quantity steadily. Against the backdrop, the launch of the Center is conducive to maximizing the role of standardization in linking international and domestic markets, bringing a change to the RCEP standardization process so that it is no longer promoted merely by China but jointly by China and other countries and regions in a coordinated manner and facilitating the high-quality development of foreign trade.
