Recently, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Natural Resources, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development jointly issued a notice to announce the list of construction units of National Demonstration Areas for Integrated Development of Culture and Tourism Industries. Two places in Shandong Province, Qingdao Xihai'an New District and Qingzhou City in Weifang, were selected.
At present, the added value of the cultural tourism industry in Qingdao Xihai'an New District accounts for more than 11% of its GDP. The area issues consumption coupons worth 20 million yuan every year. It has launched 100 events in the six major sectors of "dining, accommodation, traveling, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment", driving nearly 1 billion yuan in total consumption. This year, 300 high-end festivals and exhibitions have been held, attracting a total of 13.7 million tourists.
In recent years, Qingzhou has innovatively promoted the development model of "culture and tourism co-construction, industry and city integration, and science and innovation co-building", achieving remarkable results in promoting industry agglomeration, rural revitalization, city-landscape integration, and improving public services.
