Wang Shouwen, China International Trade Representative and Vice Minister of Commerce, stated in a recent press conference held by the State Council Information Office that they would continue to foster cross-border e-commerce as a new growth driver for foreign trade, boost the development of "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt", and encourage traditional foreign trade enterprises to transform into cross-border e-commerce companies.
In recent years, Shandong has continuously promoted the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce, implemented the Action Plan for the Leapfrog Development of Cross-border E-commerce, and carried out the "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt" cultivation project. According to relevant information, in 2023, Shandong vigorously developed new business forms of foreign trade, held 10 special events on "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt" throughout the year, and organized enterprises from characteristic industrial belts such as the industrial belt for auto parts to conduct cross-border e-commerce cooperation promotion activities in Malaysia and Indonesia.
It is reported that Shandong will focus on characteristic industries such as the modern light industry and textiles, new energy & materials, and automotive equipment. It will carry out the "cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt" cultivation project and bring together well-known platforms, associations, higher educational institutions, and other resources of the whole industrial chain. Furthermore, Shandong will provide resources and favorable policies for industrial belts and mobilize traditional manufacturers to "go global".
