The General Office of the People's Government of Shandong Province recently issued the Development Plan for the Aerospace Industry in Shandong Province. According to the Plan, a higher-level R&D, manufacturing, service, and application system will be established in Shandong's aerospace industry by 2030. A batch of landmark projects such as the Oriental Spaceport and satellite constellations will be completed. Shandong Province strives to enable the number of key enterprises in the aerospace industry to achieve 300. It will build about 10 aerospace industrial parks with distinctive characteristics and establish more than five provincial-level strategic emerging industrial clusters and "goose formation" clusters with prominent advantages.
In terms of development layout, Shandong Province will establish some industry-specific core clusters such as the cluster for the aerospace information industry in Jinan, that for the general aviation and satellite communication industry in Qingdao, and that for the commercial aerospace industry in Yantai. It aims to facilitate the coordinated development of characteristic parks in various cities and shape a development pattern that is "led by three cores, supported by multiple points, and featured by open cooperation".
The Plan specifies the implementation of seven major projects for improving innovation capability, strengthening industrial system chains, leading the development of the Oriental Spaceport, gathering park carriers, promoting open and integrated development, supporting infrastructure, and expanding application scenarios.
