Recently, the Shandong Provincial People's Government issued the Opinions on Strengthening the Construction of the Cross-strait Industrial Cooperation Zone for the Replacement of Old Growth Drivers with New Ones, which clarified eight major tasks such as optimizing the development space, promoting the industrial focus, and conducting targeted investment attraction. By 2025, it will attract 300 Taiwan-funded and relevant domestic and foreign-funded enterprises.

According to the Opinions, Shandong will focus on food and beverage, equipment manufacturing, biological medicine, electronic information, and other fields to introduce a batch of Taiwan-funded enterprises with high technology, high returns, and high added value as well as highly relevant industrial supporting projects. It will cultivate and strengthen some advantageous characteristic industrial chains to create an industrial development pattern of "two zones and one center" in the cooperation zone, covering the advanced manufacturing industrial zone, the food, medicine, and health industrial zone, and the comprehensive service center for exchanges with Taiwan.

Shandong will coordinate the entire province's investment attraction resources and combine the industrial layout of the cooperation zone with the actual development of leading industries. Moreover, it will undertake the transfer of Taiwan-funded industries from developed regions in a targeted way, facilitate the in-depth integration of industrial chains and supply chains, and support the preferential settlement of Taiwan-funded enterprises in the cooperation zone.
