On February 29, the Information Office of the Shandong Provincial People's Government held a press conference around the topic of "Strengthening Efforts to Create a High-standard Business Environment" to introduce Shandong's work and progress in strengthening supervision, improving efficiency, and serving the high-quality development of the pharmaceutical industry. At the conference, representatives of relevant departments interpreted the Measures on Optimizing Review and Approval Services to Promote High-quality Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry.

The document consists of seven parts. Revolving around the whole process from drug innovation and R&D, clinical trials, inspection and testing to review, marketing and post-marketing supervision, it puts forward 20 measures from seven aspects: supporting pharmaceutical product innovation and R&D, improving the service capacity of inspection and testing, optimizing the service system of review and verification, enhancing the service efficiency of review and approval, optimizing product promotion and application, strengthening standard and brand building, and consolidating the foundation for industrial development. These measures are well-targeted, integrated, and effective and will combine to form a synergy effect in promoting development.
