Since the beginning of 2024, Shandong Province has been implementing and advancing the development actions for emerging industries in a comprehensive manner, with a concentration on enhancing key sectors, including the new generation of information technology, perovskite solar cells among other new energy products, and modern pharmaceuticals. The emerging industries have shown a robust growth momentum, with the added value of high-tech industries maintaining an average annual growth rate of 15%. At the same time, the province has carried out the "Technical Transformation in 10,000 Projects, Transition of 10,000 Enterprises" program for traditional industries. So far, over 12,000 technical transformation projects, each with an investment of more than 5 million yuan, have been completed. In Jinan, the promotion for a total of 1,000 projects with such investment scale has been accelerated, not only to transform and upgrade traditional industries but also to speed up the cultivation of future industries.

Currently, Shandong Province takes a forward-looking vision for planning future industries such as magnetic levitation power equipment, the metaverse, and artificial intelligence, while formulating implementation schemes and specific support policies at a high standard for artificial intelligence to empower new industrialization.

Zhang Haibo, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, said that going forward, the province will aim at high-end, intelligent, green, and cluster development, focus on advanced manufacturing, and accelerate the advancement of the new industrialization.
