Shandong has recently unveiled the Action Plan for Blockchain Technology Innovation and Industrial Development of Shandong Province (2024-2025), aimed at accelerating blockchain technology innovation and industrial development, while nurturing new quality productive forces.

Committed to treating blockchain development as a pivotal leap forward in the autonomous innovation of core technologies and the foundation of a trustworthy and secure digital economy, Shandong has set forth objectives that by 2025, the province's blockchain technological innovation capabilities and overall industrial strength will rise to the forefront at a national level. The plan anticipates the establishment of two or three high-energy technological innovation platforms and leading platform-type enterprises within the sector. Additionally, it aims to foster 20 or so innovative companies with distinctive scenario application features and to develop over 100 cases of innovative products and services.

In the strategic move to optimize and enhance the industrial structure, Shandong will further capitalize on the strengths of its prominent cities. The province will support Jinan and Qingdao, two nationally recognized software hubs, to zero in on blockchain technology innovation, its integration and application, and the crafting of a pioneering area for blockchain industry growth. Moreover, it will expedite the formation of unique industries, encourage the industrialization of blockchain technology in suitable cities, and hasten the planning and establishment of a number of industrial parks and clusters.
