Shandong has announced three "industrial brains" for key industries, including the fine tea processing in Rizhao, the production of specialized vehicles in Liangshan County, Jining, and the port logistics in Shandong. They are characterized by outstanding industrial scale and economic benefits, sound data resource systems and high data value.

It is understood that in recent years, Shandong has deeply implemented the strategy of building itself into a province with strong strength in manufacturing and digitization, while exploring new paths for data-reality integration. As a result, "industrial brains" emerged in the province. Boasting technologies such as big data, large-scale models and big computing power, these "industrial brains" focused on the application of data elements to build an industrial platform empowered by big data for precise industrial governance and coordinated development of industrial clusters. This has created a new data-driven pattern of intelligent manufacturing and service-oriented manufacturing, resulting in great strides in the development of the digital economy.

At present, 32 provincial-level "industrial brains" in Shandong have been put into operation one after another. Efforts have been made to accelerate the construction of "industrial brain" capability centers, which brought together 957 "small, fast, light and targeted" products and solutions, introduced 1,208 digital technologies, and served 49,500 micro, small and medium-sized businesses. With digital empowerment for 11 iconic industrial chains and key industrial clusters, progress has been seen in accelerating the transformation of upstream and downstream industries as well as small, medium and large-sized businesses, and forming an integrated development trend.
