The 2024 International Exchange Conference on High-quality Technical and Skilled Talent Training (Modern Service) was held in Jinan on May 13. The conference was jointly initiated and organized by the Shandong Technician Institute and the Shandong Skilled Talents Development Association under the guidance of the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Shandong Province.

Shandong enjoys a robust foundation in industry and manufacturing and a large skilled workforce. At present, the total number of skilled workers in the province has exceeded 15 million. Of them, there are more than 4 million high-skilled workers, including 22 winning the Grand Skill Award of China, 70 receiving special government allowance from the State Council and 771 winning the National Technical Expert title, all ranking among the top in China.

In recent years, the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Shandong Province has vigorously promoted the opening up and international exchanges and cooperation in skilled worker education. It has sent several batches of outstanding teachers to Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia and other places for training and exchanges, initiated the China-Germany cultivation of skilled workers in intelligent manufacturing under the dual system, and carried out professional teacher training for NEVs with relevant organizations in the United Kingdom. These efforts have effectively broadened the channels for international exchanges and cooperation in skilled worker education.
