In 2023, the added value of industries above the designated size in Shandong Province increased by 7.1% year on year, 2.5 percentage points higher than the national average, and industrial profits increased by 24.4%, 26.7 percentage points higher than the national average, providing strong support for the entire province's economic development and the national industrial market. Shandong makes great efforts to closely combine the cultivation of new productive forces with the promotion of new industrialization. It establishes industrial chains by focusing on the development of new productive forces.

This year, focusing on advantageous industries such as high-end chemistry, automobiles, and smart home appliances, Shandong will vigorously strengthen, extend, and supplement industrial chains, boost the innovation and iteration of new technologies and products, and make every effort to enhance the competitive advantages of the whole industrial chains. Focusing on traditional industries such as metallurgy and petrochemicals, Shandong will launch a new round of large-scale equipment renovation. Within this year, about 12,000 technological transformation projects with an investment of more than 5 million yuan will be implemented. Besides, Shandong will deeply engage in the implementation of projects for the development of strategic emerging industries and take action to cultivate and develop future industries.
