Shandong\'s Two Resort Areas Rated as National-level Resort Areas

On January 11, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China announced on its website that 15 tourist resorts were rated as national-level tourist resorts, including Yantai Golden Beach Resort and Rongcheng's Haoyunjiao Resort in Shandong Province.

Yantai Golden Beach Resort is located on the coast of the Shandong Peninsula and along the northern coast of Yantai Huang-Bohai New Area (Yantai Economic & Technological Development Area). Its 10,000-meter-long beach, which is well-known at home and abroad, is one of the natural seawater beaches with the best-protected environments in China. Paved with superfine sand, the beach stretches for dozens of kilometers, reputed as "the No.1 beach in north China".

Located at the easternmost tip of the Shandong Peninsula, Haoyunjiao Resort is surrounded by mountains and sea on three sides. In the Resort, islands, beaches, reefs, lakes, and forests are widely distributed. With five bays, 30-kilometer pristine beaches, and 70,000-mu wayward pines, the 112-kilometer-long coast has been rated as the most beautiful coast in mainland China by National Geographic.
