In recent years, Shandong has identified the new energy industry as one of the top ten industries for the replacement of old growth drivers with new ones in the province. Taking PV power generation as a focus of efforts for energy structure transformation, Shandong has vigorously developed PV power generation according to local conditions and thus contributed to Shandong's green and low-carbon development.

Notably, the new industrial model of the "PV plus" has greatly improved the comprehensive utilization rate of land. In order to solve the land problem that impedes the development of PV power generation, Shandong has creatively promoted the "PV plus" industrial model at saline-alkali tidal flats, coal mining subsidence areas, abandoned industrial and mining land and other kinds of land, explored the intensive development mode in which land is used in multiple ways, and promoted the coordinated development of PV power generation, new energy storage, aquaculture, leisure and entertainment, and other fields.

After years of transformation, Shandong now has enjoyed robust development in new energy. As of March this year, the installed capacity of PV power in Shandong had reached 45.51 million kilowatts. It is estimated that the figure will increase to 65 million kilowatts by 2025, which means PV power generation will generate more revenues for Shandong.
