Relying on the characteristic advantages of fisheries and its resource endowments, Rongcheng City is comprehensively promoting the transformation and upgrading of offshore fish farming. It is vigorously advancing marine development through science and technology, promoting the growth of the fishing industry through fish farming, and popularizing the shallow-sea multi-trophic ecological aquaculture mode, so as to drive the high-quality development of the marine economy.

It is reported that Rongcheng is applying the concept of industrial chain, supply chain, innovation chain and ecological chain to accelerate the upgrading of marine ranching, deep-sea fishing, marine food processing, port distribution and cold-chain logistics industries. Additionally, efforts are being made to cultivate and develop new driving forces such as marine biomedicine, marine engineering equipment, tourism and the "blue carbon" economy, continuously deepen the ecological protection and restoration of coastlines and bays, and strive to build a new highland for marine economic development.
