On June 28, the 2023 East Asia Marine Cooperation Platform Qingdao Forum with the theme of "Harmonious Coexistence in the 'Ocean Decade'" opened in Shandong.

The plaque unveiling ceremony of the Shandong Marine Scientific and Technological Achievements Transfer and Commercialization Center and "Ocean Decade" Innovation Cooperation Center for International Marine Scenes was held during the Forum. Shandong Marine Scientific and Technological Achievements Transfer and Commercialization Center (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community) aims to promote the commercialization of Shandong marine scientific and technological achievements and advance the development and growth of the marine industry. It focuses on five distinctive and emerging marine industries, including marine information technology, marine biomedicine, marine clean energy, utilization of seawater resources, and marine carbon sink, and eight sub-sector industry chains to advance six major development tasks. By mobilizing high-quality elements and advantageous resources such as "Government, Industry, Education, Research, Finance, Service and Achievement", it aims to create an innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem for the marine industry characterized by "technology leadership, resource aggregation, collaborative research, deep integration, mutual complementarity, as well as open and shared development". This initiative will promote the construction of pilot zones for green, low-carbon, and high-quality development in Shandong Province, providing significant strategic support for accelerating the development of a maritime power and building Shandong into a strong maritime province.
