Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the General Office of the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China jointly released the list of the first batch of national towns with strong agricultural industries. Weifang City has seven towns on the list, becoming one of the prefecture-level cities with the most towns on the list in Shandong Province.

Among them, Wangfen Town has a hawthorn planting history of more than 500 years and a hawthorn planting area of 18,000 mu. Its main product "Changkou Hawthorn" is a national geographical indication product with a large size, high quality, and a high yield. Now, Wangfen Town has 138 fruit processing enterprises that have passed the QS quality system certification with an annual output of 20,000 tons of fresh hawthorn fruits and 200,000 tons of hawthorn products. Notably, their combined output value exceeds 2.5 billion yuan, accounting for more than 70% of the national hawthorn product market and more than 30% of the international market. These figures testify to the reputation of Wangfen Town as "the first hawthorn products town in China."
