Recently, Qingdao completed the hull construction of Asia's first cylindrical offshore oil and gas processing facility independently designed and built by China—"Offshore Oil 122" floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, marking that China's design and construction technology in all types of FPSO units has achieved a high level of independence.
"Offshore Oil 122" employs a new cylindrical structure design, which can more effectively reduce the costs of oilfield development and operation compared with the traditional ship-type structure. The independently developed smart central control system featuring sea-land integration allows a switch to an intelligent typhoon model which enables unmanned production during a typhoon, providing a brand-new model for the intelligent and digital development of offshore oil and gas field facilities.
The project adopts a new natural gas desulfurization device and dual-fuel generator on an offshore platform for the first time in China, which can make full use of oilfield associated gas and effectively enhance green energy conservation. A series of key equipment such as large-capacity hydraulic submersible pumps have been manufactured in China.
